The South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) participates in, and coordinates a number of domestic and international industry events and trade shows.

New online PR workshops for tourism operators

There are a wide range of public relations tactics which tourism operators can use to raise their profile, gain media coverage and share their stories.

In 2017 the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) is offering a new PR training program, delivered by Michelle Prak. Michelle is a PR consultant, lecturer, and former SATC digital content manager. 

Join us for the fourth and final session - Managing issues and crises. Learn about the many ways you can prepare and be on the front-foot, including creating key messages and pulling together a crisis management team.

This workshop is free to attend and will be delivered entirely online – so you can participate from the comfort of your own home or office – wherever you are around South Australia!

This workshop runs for 90 minutes, beginning at 9.30am, and will be delivered online. Participants will receive instructions on how to use the online software.

Diary dates for future SATC trade events:

ATE17

The Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) is Australia’s largest annual travel and tourism business-to-business event. It brings together Australia’s tourism industry in a forum to showcase their products directly to tourism wholesalers and retailers from around the world, through a combination of scheduled business appointments and networking events. ATE17 will be held in Sydney from 14 to 18 May 2017. Applications for sellers have now closed.

DiscoverSA
Held in conjunction with the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC), this annual inbound event will be held from 6 to 9 April 2017. Registrations for buyers (inbound tour operators, domestic wholesalers and online travel agents) has opened and managed by the SATC.

South Australia – Uncorked!
This one day workshop is an opportunity for South Australian operators to meet with invited travel trade (inbound tour operators, domestic wholesalers and online travel agents). The event will be held on Thursday 10 August 2017. Seller registrations will open in early June 2017.

Trade show financial support for tourism operators

SATC maintains a dedicated team in Adelaide which helps to coordinate South Australian industry representation at trade and consumer shows throughout the world. Financial support is often available to South Australia based operators in the form of a subsidy. For more information, please read the trade show subsidy guidelines.

Tourism Australia has developed a one-stop resource of trade activities centred on the promotion of Australia. This calendar includes activities hosted by Tourism Australia, all State and Territory Tourism Organisations and the Australia Tourism Export Council as well as other industry bodies.
