Murraylands

Murraylands Tourism Marketing Incorporated is a not-for-profit Regional Tourism Organisation. Encompassing the Murray River, from Wellington to Swan Reach, and the vast Murray Mallee farming district, the Murraylands is a diverse nature-based tourism region.

As the peak body for the Murraylands region, MTM focuses on destination marketing to local, national and international markets and acts as a bridge between tourism operators, national tourism bodies, and local government. MTM is responsible for securing marketing funds for the region and developing and implementing strategic tourism plans.

The organisation works collaboratively with the SATC and other stakeholders, ensuring its activities align with the State’s overall marketing direction.

MTM is managed by a skills-based board appointed by the South Australian Minister for Tourism and has two full time staff employed by the South Australian Tourism Commission. MTM is funded via the South Australian Tourism Commission, Rural City Murray Bridge, Mid Murray Council, Southern Mallee Council and District Council Karoonda East Murray.

MTM also works closely with the Murraylands Tourism Partnership to ensure a unified approach to promoting the region as a destination.

In 2020 Murraylands tourism:

• Has high appeal to consumers.
• Is sustainable, operator and community led.
• Has doubled its contribution to the regional economy.
• Showcases regional history, heritage and culture.
• Is supported by the highest quality river, and off river, accommodation choices that integrate with a range of authentic and energizing experiences.
• Actively collaborates to deliver new products and services that generate increased profits for operators.
